Bake the Book: Food52's Genius Desserts

A hands-on baking class. Class is limited to 12 students. Alongside the tasting of baked goods, a seasonal salad, cheeses, and locally baked bread will be served with wine and beer. Bring a sealable container to bring home leftover bites of the sweets. No cookbooks will be sold at this event, nor are they required to be owned by any student registered for this class.

Inspired by the cookbook shelves of her students, Jennifer will teach a handful of recipes from the award-winning Genius Desserts by Kristen Miglore. IACP's best baking book of 2018 is a compilation of genius recipes from professionals and amateurs alike. Jennifer chose these recipes for class because they are different, very doable at home, and take minimal time to prepare. World Peace Cookies are a French spin on the American chocolate chip cookie. A vivid Parsley Cake will be a refreshing dessert for St. Patrick's Day (and any fan of the color green!). Short on time? The lime cracker pie can be assembled in a flourish by the busiest of bakers, while evoking the spirit of a key lime pie. And make frozen yogurt at home, an easy addition to any gathering.

If you find yourself needing some inspiration to try something new, take this class!
