Community Dinner: Georgian Lobio (First Seating)
For our final installment of Community Dinners in 2019, we are featuring a vegetarian meal from Georgia from our friend, Anna Voloshyna. She'll cook traditional Georgia dishes with this in mind:
According to Russian poet Alexander Pushkin, "Every Georgian dish is a poem." Thus, Georgian meals must be a polyphony written with food and wine. With this dinner, I want to take you on an exciting culinary journey to one of the most beautiful countries that gave birth to wine and colorful Supra feasts. Since the weather is getting colder by the day, I'll be serving hearty dishes that will warm you up, wake up your senses with aromatic spices and herbs, and will make you feel cozy and comfy.
MENU
Lobio
Traditional Georgian bean stew flavored with herbs and spices.
Imeretian Khachapuri
No Georgian feast would be complete without this delicate bread stuffed with fresh soft cheese and brushed with butter.
Anna Voloshyna was born and raised in Ukraine and after moving to the United States she followed her passion for cooking and started hosting East European pop-up dinners with a focus on Ukrainian and Georgian cuisines. She is passionate about telling culinary stories of different cultures and connecting people through the common joy of having a meal together. New tastes, unexpected culinary discoveries, and deliciousness of living in the moment – that’s what Anna wants the guests to experience at her cooking classes.
