This week, we welcome you for an Art Opening. In her latest exhibition, Emily Ritz continues to delve into her world of imagined plant life. Over the past three years she has developed a series of colorful and textural works that depict her plantlike patterns in watercolor, drawing, sculpture and embroidery. Her larger pieces are based on crystal formations which are slight departure from her last works which were based on animals. She uses watercolor and extremely detailed drawing to create these rich landscapes. Emily’s drawings often have a sense of three dimensionality and movement. Her smaller pieces mounted on wood use the same visual language yet are more inspired by traditional botanical studies as opposed to abstract forms reminiscent of a creature or crystal.

Opening Thursday, May 7, 6PM - 9PM
Live music! Crystalline math-folk guitar-loops by a local favorite, Bobey.
Exhibition closes Thursday, June 18, 2015.
